Quality and quantity in online edition of Limburg Foal Auction
9 September 2024
On Wednesday, the 25th of September, the 24th edition of the Limburg Foal Auction will take place, and as has become tradition in recent years, buyers will also have the opportunity to invest in future talents through an online foal auction. This year’s offering is larger than ever before, with an impressive level of quality across the board. The online auction, featuring 56 top-quality foals, will conclude on Friday the 27th of September.
Thanks to the good results of the Limburg Foal Auction in recent years, the selection committee was able to draw from an excellent pool of talent for both auctions. The majority of the foals come from the southeastern region of the Netherlands, a breeding area that consistently proves its value.
Promising collection
Since it’s not possible to present all foals in the traditional live auction, international buyers are given the chance to acquire interesting foals through the online auction. These foals meet all the criteria for type, correctness, movement, and pedigree. They are sired by proven stallions such as Baltic VDL, Comme Il Faut, Diamant de Semilly, Eldorado van de Zeshoek, Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, Bustique, and Mylord Carthago. Upcoming sires like Tattoo H&DB TN, Dinello, Ermitage Kalone, and Newmarket VM are also represented in this collection. A number of foals is closely related to top level performers, such as the Pegase van ’t Ruytershof son Perseus LM, who was bred out of a young half-sister to the 1.60m level horses Zorran and Unico. The dam of Up To Fire Z (s.Up van ’t Paradijs) is a half-sister to the 1.60m level horses AD Nouvelle Europe Z and Double Black. Another example is the Diarado offspring Don Cassini, whose dam competed internationally at 1.45/1.50m level. Particularly interesting is Eduardo Z (s.Emerald van ’t Ruytershof), who is a three-quarter brother to Olympic showjumper Nikka vd Bisschop, while the dam of Ufo L (s.Corydon van T&L) competed at international 1.55/1.60m level with Karim Elzoghby. The Emerald son Ultimate MvM is a half-brother to the international 1.55/1.60m horse Dandy, ridden by Kaitlin Campbell. Other foals are closely related to top performers like C Vier 2, Beauville Z, Triple, Audi’s Reflection, Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, Glamour Girl, Ligie, Verdi, and Chellano Z.
